MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023153 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 24, 2024, for 'vehicle door handle protection device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A vehicle door handle protection device comprises of an extendable platform 1 positioned in proximity to door handle of four wheeler, multiple suction units 2 are configured with platform 1 to affix platform 1 with four wheeler, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 installed on platform 1 capturing images of handle, a pair of motorized sliding units 4 installed over platform 1 to provide translation to a plate 5, a proximity sensor installed over platform 1 to monitor proximity of hand of a user from the handle, a two axis lead screw arrangement 6 installed over platform 1 to provide translation to a rubberized member 7 in proximity to hand, a microphone 8 installed over platform 1 to receive voice command of user regrading opening of door, a telescopic pusher 9 installed over platform 1 to extend in view of applying force over handle for opening the door."
