MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514065160 A) filed by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Shizuoka, Japan, on July 8, 2025, for 'vehicle console box structure.'

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A vehicle console box structure (1a) includes: slide rails (4) provided below seat surfaces of left and right front seats (2,3), slidably supporting the left and right front seats; rail covers (19) covering the slide rails with shaped to swell in the vehicle width direction and extending in the front-rear direction; and a vehicle console box (1) disposed in a separation region (R) at the left and right front seats in-between, the vehicle console box including, on each of side surfaces, a concave portion (21) extending in the front-rear direction to face the corresponding rail cover in the vehicle width direction and being curved to avoid interference with the corresponding rail cover, thereby avoiding interference between the vehicle console box and the rail covers, while capable of securing a width dimension of the vehicle console box and the rail covers."
