MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011205 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 10, for 'vehicle brake pad replacement device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Rashmi Ray.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A vehicle brake pad replacement device, comprising a rectangular base 101 having four telescopic rods 102 attached underneath base 101 via leaf springs 201 for shock absorption, motorized omnidirectional wheels 103 provides locomotion of base 101, a cuboidal chamber 104 stores tools for installation, a telescopic gripper 105 installed on base 101 via a primary ball and socket joint 106, having an electromagnetic end actuator for fetching a wrench from chamber 104 for unfastening bolts of a wheel of vehicle to access a brake, two robotic arms 107 removes wheel to place on base 101, the gripper 105 unfasten a caliper of brake to provide access brake pad, a container 108 stores new brake pads, robotic arms 107 remove old brake pad and install a new brake pad from container 108 and reposition caliper, an imaging unit 109, determines position of wheel of vehicle."
