MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517057170 A) filed by Thales, Meudon, France, on June 13, for 'variable-effect filtering device.'
Inventor(s) include Coumert, Bruno; and Le Poulain, Jean-Yves.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to variable-effect filtering device (12), comprising: - a filter (20) having a working surface (23) comprising a central zone (ZC) and a peripheral zone (ZP), the filter (20) having a predefined optical property over a filtering zone, the filtering zone being the central zone (ZC) or the peripheral zone (ZP) or the entirety of the working surface (23), and - a diaphragm (22) having an opening that is adjustable between the diaphragm (22) being fully open and the diaphragm (22) being closed as far as possible, the diaphragm (22) being positioned relative to the filter (20) so that changing the extent of opening of the diaphragm (22) changes the accessible portion of the filtering zone or the accessible portion of another zone of the working surface (23), making it possible to bring about a change to the filtering effect."
