MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641017069 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 16, for 'vapour polishing system and method for post-processing three-dimensional printed thermoplastic component.'

Inventor(s) include John Rajan A; Jeyanthi S; Vinoth Kumar Selvaraj; Ram Kishore S; Rohith Kumar G; and Vedha Lakshmi Raja.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a vapour polishing system (100) and a method (300) for post-processing a three-dimensional (3D) printed thermoplastic component. The vapour polishing system (100) includes a sealed polishing chamber (102) defining an interior volume, one or more sensors (210) configured to generate sensed parameters indicative of at least temperature and pressure within the sealed polishing chamber (102), and an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled controller (202) including a microcontroller (204) and a wireless communication interface (214). The IoT-enabled controller (202) receives the sensed parameters, receives polishing parameters via a user interface (212), and controls operation of a vapour generation module (218) and a vapour circulation module (216). The IoT-enabled controller (202) communicates status data via a wireless network (220) to a remote computing platform (222) and generates a cycle report indicative of the polishing parameters and the sensed parameters."
