MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611001158 A) filed by Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute Of Technology; and Indian Space Research Organization, Jalandhar, Punjab, on Jan. 6, for 'uv and thermal assisted plunger-based extrusion additive manufacturing system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An UV and thermal assisted plunger-based extrusion additive manufacturing system comprising a user-interface to receive one or more input from a user, at least one processor (104) to initiate a printing assembly (106). The printing assembly (106) comprises a build platform (108), an indirectly mounted liquid polymer feeding unit (110) configured to extrude and cure liquid polymer material on the build platform (108) based at least on one or more input. Further, the printing assembly (106) comprises a directly mounted conductive material feeding unit (120) configured to deposit the conductive material on the layer of liquid polymer material, comprising. A gantry mechanism (130), configured to support and position feeding units. An infrared (IR) curing unit (128) is configured to cure and sinter each deposited conductive layer. A sensing module (132) in sync with at least one processor (104) regulate functionality of system."
