MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019671 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 16, 2024, for 'utensil lid holding device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Meenakshi Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A utensil lid holding device comprises of a configured with a C-shaped member 2 to engage a wall of a cooking utensil, an ultrasonic sensor positioned on the member 2 for detecting thickness of the wall of the cooking utensil, a motorized hinge 4 configured between the plate 1 and member 2 for tilting the member 2 in view of gripping the member 2 with the wall of the utensil via a suction cup 5 attached with the member 2, a camera 6 mounted on the plate 1 for capturing multiple images of the lid, a plank 7 configured with the platform 3 via a motorized slider 8 for gripping the lid between the plank 7 and plate 1, and a telescopically operated gripper 10 installed with the plate 1 for gripping and positioning the lid over the utensil."
