MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517064556 A) filed by Wing Aviation Llc, Palo Alto, U.S.A., on July 7, for 'using ambiguous semantic labeled images for uav positioning.'

Inventor(s) include Gabor, Jeremie; Jourdan, Damien; and Shoeb, Ali.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In some embodiments, a method of determining an estimated location of a UAV is provided. A captured image is received from a camera of the UAV. Semantic labels are generated by the UAV for a plurality of objects visible in the captured image. The UAV compares the semantic labels to reference labels associated with a reference map to determine a current location estimate. The UAV updates an accumulated location estimate using the current location estimate, and the UAV determines the estimated location of the UAV based on the accumulated location estimate."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 09, 2023, under International application No.PCT/US2023/079211.
