MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647040616 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated, San Diego, on March 31, for 'user equipment handover and configuration change for sensing service.'

Inventor(s) include Purkayastha, Punyaslok; Merlin, Simone; Griot, Miguel; Cheng, Hong; and Horn, Gavin Bernard.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. Some aspects relate to mobility procedures for user equipment (UEs) configured as sensing units (SUs) for an integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) service. In some aspects, a mobility service network node may be configured to facilitate coordination of configuration changes due to a handover. For example, the mobility service network node may interact with a network function entity (referred to herein as a sensing management function (SnMF) network node) to facilitate a rapid re-configuration of a UE that moves from a source cell to a target cell and/or a radio access network (RAN) node associated with the target cell."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 11, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/055333.
