MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441011109 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy, Espoo, Finland, on Feb. 16, 2024, for 'user equipment configuration as intermediate and assisting node.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "User equipment configuration as intermediate and assisting node is provided. A method for user equipment configuration as intermediate and assisting node may include providing, to a network entity, capability information indicating a role which an apparatus is configured to function and indicating one or more network topologies which is supported by the apparatus. The method may also include receiving, from the network entity, a configuration including policy information indicating at least the role assigned to the apparatus and a type of a relay node which the apparatus is to operate. The method may further include operating as the relay node according to the received configuration."
