MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024129 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'user-comfort based stand covering device for bicycles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A user-comfort based stand covering device for bicycles, comprising an elongated body 1 engaged on lower portion of a bicycle stand, an ultrasonic sensor detects dimensions of stand, a drawer arrangement integrated on body 1 to extend/retract body 1 in order to cover stand's lower portion, a curved member 2 is oriented by a motorized hinge joint 3 to cover lower extreme of stand, a tactile sensor detects hardness of a ground surface, a pair of extendable flaps 4 get extended for imparting a planar structure to lower extreme of stand for supporting stand on surface to prevent penetrating of stand on surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 determines positioning of a protrusion of stand, and an extendable vertical plate 6 fabricated with a cushioned padding gets extended for covering protrusion in order to prevent any injury to user."
