MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020025 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'unmanned underwater surveillance device.'
Inventor(s) include Tarun Kr. Sharma; R. P. Agarwal; Sumika Jain; and Vinod Kr. Rathi.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An unmanned underwater surveillance device, comprising a body 1 connected with a controller connected with body 1 via optical fiber communication bus to allow user to provide input commands regarding submerging/surfacing body 1, electronic valve 2 for dispensing water from outer surroundings of body 1 to chamber 3 for submerging body 1, pump 4 arranged within chamber 3 for pumping water to outer surroundings for surfacing of body 1, motorized propellers 5 for propelling/steering the body 1 over and/or inside surface of water body, a motorized iris lid 6 arranged on propellers 5 for opening/closing to steer body 1, a SONAR sensor for detecting obstacle near to body 1, an imaging unit 7 for capturing surroundings images, and a pair of electrodes 8 connected with nanotubes 9 supplied with carbon for supplying electricity to tubes for sealing of collision affected portion of body 1."
