MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065215 A) filed by International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, U.S.A., on July 9, for 'unloading interdependent shared libraries.'

Inventor(s) include Wang, Heng; Chen, Xiaoling; Huang, Yan; Liu, Xinpeng; and Kang, Ziyun.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Unloading shared resources is described. A shared library correlation table (SLCT) is generated in a mock resource. During a close function, selecting an entry in the SLCT is selected for reducing a reference count of the selected entry in the SLCT, a status of the selected entry based on the reference count is verified, and an associated container of the selected entry is removed from memory when the status of the selected entry indicates the associated container is not a shared resource, thereby avoiding segmentation faults."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 20, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/132493.
