MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611004477 A) filed by Srinivasababu Nadendla; and Sravanthi Gaddipati, New Delhi, on Jan. 16, for 'universal testing machine-compatible disc fixture system for hoop tensile test of a filament-wound composite ring.'

Inventor(s) include Srinivasababu Nadendla; Sravanthi Gaddipati; and Bijoya Kumar Behera.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a Universal Testing Machine (UTM)-compatible disc fixture system (100). The system comprises a pair of split discs (1, 2) that are inserted into the inner diameter of the composite ring. A pair of rectangular holders (3, 4), each incorporating a thick flange and a clearance, securely accommodates the split discs (1, 2) while enabling convenient specimen loading. The fixture further includes two securing pin sets: a short stepped pin set (7, 8) having a 34 mm diameter and a 30 mm stepped diameter, 140 mm length for locking the discs within the holders (3, 4), and a long stepped pin set (5, 6) having a 34 mm diameter and a 29 mm stepped diameter, 125 mm length for fixing the circular adapter portion of the holders to the UTM grips. The system ensures precise alignment, uniform load transfer, and reliable measurement of hoop tensile strength."
