MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517066012 A) filed by Retractable Technologies, Inc; and Shaw, Thomas, J., Little Elm, U.S.A., on July 10, for 'universal dosage verification system and method for medical syringe.'

Inventor(s) include Shaw, Thomas, J.; Small, Mark; Zhu, Ni; and Duesman, Kathryn.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Systems and methods of a dosage verification system are disclosed that can be used by a healthcare worker or an individual self-administering an injection to create a digital record verifying the dosage of a medicinal fluid drawn into a syringe prior to an injection. The dosage verification system includes a medical syringe and an imaging device configured to view and selectively capture, process, store, and transmit a digital image of the syringe from which the volumetric dose of medicinal fluid drawn into the fluid chamber of the barrel can be determined and/or verified prior to an injection."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 31, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/013792.
