MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013468 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'underground water recharging assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Pritpal Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An underground water recharging assistive device, comprises of a cylindrical hollow body 1 installed at sides of a road in partial manner, a set of elongated members 2 configured with a set of semi- cylindrical units 3 for allowing passage of rainwater from road within the body 1, a rain sensor for detecting rain in the surrounding, a set of motorized sliders 4 for popping-out the units and allow rain to pass within the body 1, a level sensor embedded within the body 1 for detecting level of water collected within the body 1, a sensing module 5 including a TDS sensor, pH sensor, and a TOC sensor for detecting TDS level, pH level, and TOC level of the water, a motorized iris lid for allowing passage of water towards underground water and a pump 6 to transfer inappropriate water towards the road."
