MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531018024 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 28, for 'umbrella-mounted additional protection assistive device from extreme weather conditions.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An umbrella-mounted additional protection assistive device from extreme weather conditions, comprising a cuboidal body 101 affixed on inner periphery of an umbrella's lower edges via multiple suction cups 102 arranged on back portion of body 101, a rain sensor integrated in body 101 detects rainy weather conditions, a speaker 103 installed on body 101 notify user regarding rainy weather, a microphone 104 integrated in body 101 receives user input voice commands regarding deployment of a cover around user, an imaging unit 105 integrated in body 101 determine dimensions of umbrella's lower edges, an extendable plate 106 installed in body 101 and configured with a transparent sheet 107 in a retracted form to extend, multiple motorized hinges 108 integrated within plate 106 tilt plate 106 to cover entire umbrella lower inner portion, multiple motorized grippers 109 arranged beneath plate 106 via an extendable link 110 hold edges for securing sheet 107."
