MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123051 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'ultra low-power phase-locked loop with dynamic frequency scaling for iot devices.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Abdul Majeed K K; and Poojari Prudhvi Sai.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides an ultra low-power phase-locked loop system (400) for Internet of Things devices. The system includes a phase detection module (402) with a phase frequency detector (404) comparing reference clock input (436) with feedback signals, and dead zone elimination (406) minimizing phase detection errors. A charge pump module (408) converts control signals into current pulses via current source array (410) and power gating control (412). A loop filter module (414) provides adaptive bandwidth control (416) and noise suppression filter (418). A voltage-controlled oscillator module (420) includes current starved delay cells (422) and differential ring oscillator (424) generating PLL output clock (438). A frequency division module (426) has programmable divider (428) and feedback path (430). Dynamic frequency scaling controller (432) and power management unit (434) optimize power consumption across operating modes."
