MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012976 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'tyres locking device for heavy vehicles.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A tyres locking device for heavy vehicles comprises a T-shaped body 1 with cylindrical unit 2 installed a set of curved-shaped extendable member 3 via set of telescopically operated bars 4, developed to be positioned in contact with a side of a trailer portion of a heavy vehicle, computing unit wirelessly associated with device for enabling user to give input commands for locking tyres, plurality of electromagnets 5 for adhering to the body 1. camera 6 is mounted on the body 1 to detect the exact location and diameter of tyres, lead screw arrangement configured between unit and body 1 for translating unit to position members 3 between tyres, ultrasonic sensors positioned on each of the members 3 to detect the distance from the tires, based on this the telescopic bars 4 positions members 3 on tyres, followed by a drawer arrangement for securing members 3 within tyres."
