MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517091601 A) filed by Herrenknecht Aktiengesellschaft, Schwanau, Germany, on Sept. 24, for 'tunnel boring machine.'
Inventor(s) include Jahn, Thomas; Wiest, Achim; Birlin, Jorg; Forster, Florian; Feisst, Albert; Himmelsbach, Christian; and Wehrmeyer, Gerhard.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In a tunnel boring machine (103) intended for liquid-supported advancement, an overflow line flow measurement arrangement (136) is provided in an overflow line arrangement (133) which connects a excavation chamber (115) and a working chamber (127), said overflow line flow measurement arrangement being configured to detect flow in the overflow line arrangement (133). As a result, operationally reliable liquid-supported advancement can be achieved in particular in that backflows from the excavation chamber (115) to the working chamber (127) are detectable."
The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 15, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/057012.
