MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411074786 A) filed by Rakuten Symphony, Inc., Tokyo, on Oct. 3, 2024, for 'triggers to initiate on-demand ssb (od-ssb) transmission in network energy savings (nes) cell.'
Inventor(s) include Chandrashekar, Subramanya; and Chhawchharia, Manjari.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method 600 includes detecting that a number of User Equipments (UEs) 202 connected to an anchor cell 204 exceeds the predefined overload threshold. The method 600 includes transmitting a Wake-Up Signal (WUS) to a Network Energy Savings (NES) cell 206 to initiate an On-Demand SSB (OD-SSB) transmission for the number of connected UEs 202 in response to detecting that the number of UEs 202 connected to the anchor cell 204 exceeds the predefined overload threshold. The WUS serves as an instruction to the NES cell 206 to deactivate an ES mode associated with the NES cell 206 and act as the trigger for the OD-SSB transmission. The method 600 includes deactivating the ES mode associated with the NES cell 206 and acting as the trigger for the OD-SSB transmission to execute the HO for the UEs 202 from the anchor cell 204 to the NES cell 206."
