MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441014209 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'trash collection and segregation device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A trash collection and segregation device, comprises of a curved-shaped body 1 having a first and second portion 2, 3 configured with a primary wheel 4 for maneuvering body 1 on a ground surface, a camera 5 to detect locations of trash on the surface, a laser projection unit 6 to guide a user to position the body 1 at the detected locations, a pair of secondary wheels 7 to assist the user in maneuver the body 1, a plate 9 configured with a motorized hinge 10 to transfer the trash over a conveyer for collecting trash within the body 1, a telescopically operated gripper 13 to transfer non-biodegradable waste in a chamber and multiple iris lids 14 for discarding biodegradable waste in a vessel attached underneath the body 1."
