MUMBAI, India, July 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511059659 A) filed by Sandeep Kour Bali; Shabir A Shah; Shazana Nazir Qazi; Dr. Ubaid Iqbal Shah; Dr. Faizan Rafiq Dar; and Dr. Waseem Ul Ayoub, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on June 21, for 'transparent dental impression tray system compatible with light-curable dental impression material.'
Inventor(s) include Sandeep Kour Bali; Shabir A Shah; Shazana Nazir Qazi; Dr. Ubaid Iqbal Shah; Dr. Faizan Rafiq Dar; and Dr. Waseem Ul Ayoub.
The application for the patent was published on July 11, under issue no. 28/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A transparent dental impression tray system (100) compatible with light-curable dental impression material comprising an upper tray (102) and a lower tray (104), each conform to maxillary and mandibular dental arch, respectively. Each of the tray (102, 104) includes a tray base (106, 124) having an outer edge (108, 126) and an inner edge (110, 128) to support a light-curable dental impression material, a labial flange (112, 130) to cover labial frenum and buccal portion, a lingual flange (114, 132) to cover lingual frenum or palatal portion, an anterior section (116, 134) for engaging front teeth region, and posterior arms (118, 136) extending to molar region, the tray (102) further comprising a palatal curved portion (120) for receiving impression material over hard palate and the trays (102, 104) being formed of a transparent, light-transmissive material, enabling uniform intra-oral curing of the material from an external light source."
