MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014179 A) filed by Athena Pharmaceutiques Sas, Louveciennes, France, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'tranexamic acid coated granule composition and process for preparation thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Mahendra Baliram Chaudhari; Omprakash Doulatram Chandwani; Nitin Pandharinath Nehete; and Amol Yuvraj Chaudhari.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a tranexamic acid coated granule composition comprising: an inner shell and an outer shell surrounding the inner shell. The inner shell comprises tranexamic acid, sugar spheres, and a first portion of polyvinyl pyrrolidone K30. The outer shell comprises Eudragit NE 30D, a second portion of polyvinyl pyrrolidone K30, sucralose, anhydrous colloidal silica, and purified talc. Herein, the outer shell facilitates the immediate release of 85% of the tranexamic acid from the inner shell to be released in 15 minutes of time. The present invention relates to a process for preparing tranexamic acid coated granule composition."
