MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541132840 A) filed by Straight Drive Sports & Leisure Private Limited, Medchal Malkajgiri, Telangana, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'trajectory control system and method for a robotic projectile launching apparatus with closed-loop position feedback.'

Inventor(s) include Phani Raj M Bhargava; and Varun Bhardwaj M V.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A trajectory control system (100) is disclosed for a robotic sports training apparatus, designed to automate the calculation and correction of projectile launch vectors. The system comprises a processing unit (102) communicatively coupled to a ball projection assembly (500) and a position feedback network (114). A trajectory definition module (108) allows users to select a spatial target zone on a virtual pitch map (FIG. 4), which transformation logic (112) converts into precise machine actuation commands. The system utilizes real-time sensor feedback to verify the physical orientation of the assembly before release, ensuring closed-loop accuracy. Furthermore, an adaptive error-correction cycle (FIG. 3) modifies subsequent actuation commands based on adjustment data derived from actual impact points, allowing the machine to dynamically compensate for environmental variables such as wind or ball wear. This architecture enables advanced simulation modes that replicate human delivery distributions with robotic precision."
