MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511110485 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology, Delhi; and Leeladhar Nagdeve, New Delhi, on Nov. 13, 2025, for 'tractor-mounted automatic vegetable transplanter employing rolling screw and gear-synchronized mechanisms.'
Inventor(s) include Leeladhar Nagdeve; Ashok Kumar Dewangan; Astitva; and Shubham Mishra.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a tractor-mounted automatic vegetable transplanter (100) that performs precise and uniform transplantation of seedlings without using hydraulic or conveyor systems. The transplanter utilizes a rolling screw-based electromechanical actuation mechanism (102) that converts rotary motion into linear displacement for accurate vertical movement of planting arms (130), ensuring consistent planting depth and eliminating fluid leakage and maintenance associated with hydraulic drives. A gear-synchronized pickup and placement mechanism (104) handles seedlings from trays to soil with uniform spacing and minimal root damage. The lightweight chassis (106) attaches to a standard three-point tractor hitch and operates with adjustable ground wheels (112) for stable depth control on varied terrain. A closed-loop control system with encoder feedback (118) and safety interlocks (120, 122, 146) governs the planting cycle automatically. The system reduces labour effort, improves accuracy, lowers energy consumption, and provides an economical, sustainable mechanization alternative suitable for small and medium-scale farms."
