MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511125078 A) filed by Thapar Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Patiala, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2025, for 'trace: temperature-related assessment for concrete evaluation using deep learning.'

Inventor(s) include Mr. Akshay Sharma; Dr. Rohit Ahuja; Mr. Ashmit Gupta; Dr. A. B. Danie Roy; and Dr. Prem Pal Bansal.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This document describes a method for evaluating the effectiveness of concrete crack repair using digital image processing techniques. The method involves analyzing color changes in heated concrete by dividing digital photos into RGB components and producing histograms of pixel intensity distributions. The method employs and processes crack images using a convolutional neural network (CNN) for feature extraction and classification of fire-affected structures. The results are integrated to comprehensively assess the quality and effectiveness of concrete crack repair methods using data fusion algorithms or machine learning techniques."
