MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411072681 A) filed by Kohler India Corporation Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, on Sept. 26, 2024, for 'top actuated touchless faucet.'

Inventor(s) include Ichchhita Pandey; and Deven Desai.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Described herein is an automatic touchless faucet [100] with a manual hot-cold mixing means integrated with the faucet to adjust hot-cold water flow ratio. It discloses a faucet [100] comprising top assembly [101], a handle assembly [102], a spout [103] with an outlet [104]. The top assembly [101] consists of at least one proximity sensor [105] to actuate water supply based on an input signal from a user. The handle assembly [102] comprises of a rotary cartridge [110] as the water mixing valve to provide a mix of hot and cold water, and which controls the flow of hot water from a hot water supply and cold water from a cold-water supply to the spout [103]. The faucet [100] is operable by a wave on/wave off feature, wherein a user may manually adjust the temperature of the water by rotating the knob [109] located at the top of the faucet, for an output of temperature controlled water."
