MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421100618 A) filed by Dr. Priya Shrivastava; and Dr. Chanammallappa R. Ganiger, Karad, Maharashtra, on Dec. 18, 2024, for 'tool for measuring curve of spee.'

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a tool for measuring the curve of Spee in a dental arch, comprising: a lock component having a length of 7 cm and an anterior curvature configured to conform to a lower dental arch form, the lock including a slot of 2.5 mm width and 5.5-6 cm length extending along a portion of its length; a key component dimensioned to fit within the slot of the lock, the key having a length of 2 cm, a width of 2.5 mm, and markings at each millimeter for direct measurement; and a stopper associated with the key for registering a depth at a vertex of the curve of Spee."
