MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441075432 A) filed by Nordex Engineering And Technology Private Limited, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Oct. 5, 2024, for 'tool for handling and positioning a root component and method for handling and positioning a root component.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention concerns a tool (200) for handling and positioning a root component (300) at a root portion (114) of a wind turbine rotor blade (1) in order to mount the root component (300) at the root portion (114), the tool (200) comprising - a mounting portion (202) configured such that the root component (300) can be releasably connected to the mounting portion (202), - means (206) for connecting the tool (200) to a crane in order to move and position the tool (200) with the help of the crane and/or - means (208) for receiving the fork of a fork lifter in order to move and position the tool (200) with the help of the fork lifter. The invention further concerns a method for handling and positioning a root component (300) at a root portion (114) of a wind turbine rotor blade (110) in order to mount the root component (300) at the root portion (114)."
