MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514092437 A) filed by The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Akron, U.S.A., on Sept. 26, 2025, for 'tire monitoring device.'

Inventor(s) include Hilgar, Stephan Peter; Bucher, Frank Helmut; Griffoin, Jean-Claude Patrice Philippe; Gabriel, Sabine Chantal; and Amaral, Thiago Martins.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is directed to a tire monitoring device comprising a sensor unit, which comprises a sensor assembly and an encapsulation material, wherein the sensor assembly is at least predominantly enclosed by the encapsulation material. Furthermore, the tire monitoring device comprises a sensor unit holder, wherein the sensor unit holder includes i) a bottom portion comprising a bottom surface, and ii) a top portion, which is opposite to the bottom portion, and wherein the sensor unit is embedded in and bonded to the top portion. Moreover, the present invention is directed to a tire comprising such a tire monitoring device."
