MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202518089239 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on Sept. 18, for 'time-domain stereo encoding and decoding method and related product.'

Inventor(s) include Li, Haiting; Wang, Bin; and Miao, Lei.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An audio encoding and decoding method and a related apparatus are provided. The audio encoding method may include: determining (401) 5 a coding mode of a current frame; when determining that the coding mode of the current frame is an anticorrelated signal coding mode, performing (402) time-domain downmix processing on left and right channel signals in the current frame by using a time-domain downmix processing manner corresponding to the anticorrelated signal 10 coding mode, to obtain a primary channel signal and a secondary channel signal (primary and secondary channel signals) in the current frame, where the time-domain downmix processing manner corresponding to the anticorrelated signal coding mode is a time-domain downmix processing manner corresponding to an anticorrelated signal channel combination scheme, and the anticorrelated signal channel 15 combination scheme is a channel combination scheme corresponding to a near out of phase signal; and encoding (403) the obtained primary channel signal and secondary channel signal in the current frame. The technical solutions provided in embodiments of this application help improve encoding and decoding quality."

The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 10, 2018, under International application No.PCT/CN2018/100060.
