MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517059808 A) filed by Fresenius Kabi Ipsum S. R. L., Milano, Italy, on June 23, for 'thermostable subtilisin variants and their use.'

Inventor(s) include Cabri, Walter; Halmschlag, Birthe Suzanne; Toplak, Ana; Janssen, Dirk Barend; Teixeira De Oliveira, Eduardo F.; Nuijens, Timo; and Wijma, Hein Jakob.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a subtilisin BPN' variant or homologue thereof, comprising new mutations compared to subtilisin BPN' represented by SEQ ID NO: 3 or a homologue sequence thereof. Such mutations may occur at amino acid positions selected from the group consisting of H17W, S18K, N25G, V30I, S63G, T71V, V72I, S204N, E251L, N43K or S87D."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 19, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/086713.
