MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511124862 A) filed by Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurugram, Haryana, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'thermoelectricity based self-charging earbuds.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A thermoelectricity based self-charging earbuds, comprises of a plurality of thermoelectric generators (TEG)s 102 adapted on earbuds 101 to harvest energy from the wearer's body heat, a plurality of solar cells 103 fabricated on a case 104 to capture ambient light, a boost/buck converter 105 for stabilizing voltage from the harvested energy, a processing module with a power management unit (PMU) 106 to regulate power distribution, and a rechargeable battery for energy storage, the processing module is operatively coupled to the thermoelectric generators 102, solar cells 103, converter 105, and battery for continuous operation of earbuds 101."
