MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115569 A) filed by Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 22, 2025, for 'thermo-activated herbal vapour pillow for infants.'

Inventor(s) include Ms. Swati Wadhawan.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a thermo-activated herbal vapour pillow designed for infants to provide natural relief from cold, cough, and nasal congestion. The pillow comprises multiple layers, including an outer organic cotton cover, a cushioning filler, and an inner layer containing temperature-sensitive herbal microcapsules. When activated by the infant's body warmth, the microcapsules release mild herbal vapours from natural oils such as eucalyptus, tulsi, and camphor. The system provides a safe, non-contact, and drug-free means of relieving congestion, ensuring baby comfort and safety during sleep. Optional features include a sensor patch and LED indicator for monitoring vapor activity."
