MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517072124 A) filed by Strix Limited, Isle of Man, U.K., on July 29, for 'thermally sensitive control.'

Inventor(s) include Moughton, Colin; Doyle, Ray; Cowell, Simon; and Gao, Jianshu.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A control unit for a liquid heating appliance comprises a leaf spring (44), comprising a fixed end (44a) and a moveable portion (44b) that is movable relative to the fixed end between a closed position and an open position. The leaf spring (44) comprises a kink (54) between the fixed end (44a) and the moveable portion (44b). A moveable electrical contact (50) is mounted on the moveable portion (44b) and mates with a corresponding fixed electrical contact (52) in an electrical power supply circuit when the leaf spring (44) is in the closed position. The control unit also comprises a thermally sensitive actuator, operable at a predetermined temperature to move the leaf spring (44) to the open position to separate the moveable contact (50) from the fixed contact (52)."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 12, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/050736.
