MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621005718 A) filed by Pdpm Indian Institute Of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Jan. 20, for 'thermal management fixture assembly for manufacturing processes.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Srivastava, Manu; Dr. Rathee, Sandeep; Prof. Pandey, Pulak Mohan; Badoniya, Pushkal; and Nabi, Shazman.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a thermal management fixture assembly (100) for manufacturing processes that addresses the need for effective temperature control during workpiece processing operations. The fixture assembly (100) includes a fixture body (101) configured for universal mounting on various machine beds, with conformal cooling channels (102) integrated within the fixture structure for circulating a heat transfer fluid. The fixture assembly (100) further includes a workpiece holding surface (103) with mounting features for securing workpieces during additive, subtractive, or hybrid manufacturing operations. Temperature sensors (107) are positioned to monitor workpiece temperature and measure inlet-outlet temperature differences for calculating heat flux in real-time. The system enables maintenance of isothermal conditions in workpieces across multiple manufacturing platforms including wire arc additive manufacturing, friction stir processing, and conventional machining, while providing universal mounting compatibility and real-time heat flux monitoring capabilities that improve dimensional precision and reduce fixture wear."
