MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010051 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'theft prevention device for vehicles.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Dara Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A theft prevention device for vehicles, comprising a telescopic frame 1 installed on vehicle's driver side door by means of a suction cup 4, a microphone 5 enables user to provide input voice commands regarding securing of a steering wheel for extending frame 1 for placing a first semi-circular shaped hollow body 6 on steering wheel, upon detecting placement of first body 6 by means of touch sensor, the microcontroller actuates a motorized hinge joint 7 for providing movement to second body 8 for covering of wheel, followed by actuation of an electromagnetic strip 9 for securing steering wheel, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 10 determines authentication of user by means of facial recognition protocols for demagnetizing joint 7 for unlocking wheel, and multiple moving balls for allowing free movement of bodies for preventing steering of vehicle, only in case of unauthorized user."
