According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This invention discloses "The MedMate," an loT-enabled smart medicine box designed to significantly improve medication adherence and enable personalized healthcare. The device features a multi-compartment box with sensors in each compartment to detect when a dose is accessed. At preprogrammed times, it provides audio-visual reminders to the user. Crucially, it objectively verifies medication intake by logging a timestamped event only when the correct compartment is opened and pills are removed. This adherence data is transmitted via Wi-Fi/cellular to a secure cloud platform. If a dose is missed, the system automatically escalates alerts to family members or caregivers. The system can be integrated with peripheral health monitoring devices (e.g., blood pressure cuffs) to capture vital signs, correlating medication intake with physiological outcomes. A comprehensive dashboard provides healthcare providers with real-time adherence reports and health trends, facilitating datadriven treatment adjustments. By ensuring verified medication intake and providing a holistic view of patient health, The MedMate addresses the critical challenge of non-adherence, leading to improved patient outcomes and more g efficient remote patient management."
