MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202544023699 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy, Espoo, Finland, on March 17, for 'terminal device capability reporting for ai/ml positioning.'

Inventor(s) include Dick Carrillo Melgarejo; and Antti Anton Toskala.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a solution for terminal device capability reporting for AI/ML positioning. In an aspect, a terminal device obtains capability information on a channel time domain measurement representation for positioning usage, wherein the capability information indicates that the apparatus can support one or more of a path-based channel time domain measurement representation for positioning usage or a sample-based channel time domain measurement representation for positioning usage. The terminal device sends, to the network device, the capability information. This way, the capability of supporting path-based and sample-based channel time domain measurement representation for positioning usage of the terminal device can be transmitted to the network device, to facilitating operations relating to AI/ML positioning at the network device, thereby improving positioning performance."
