MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531018764 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 3, for 'tape dispensing device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A tape dispensing device, comprising a C-shaped member 101 placed around a roll of tape, two elongated rods 102 having a suction cup 103 at the ends for supporting member 101 on a surface, bottom edges of member 101 having inwardly-directed motorized pop- out balls 104 for engaging with an inner surface of roll for a rotation of roll, a rectangular plate 106 is mounted angularly with a bottom edge of a U-shaped flap 105 via a hinge 107, a rectangular panel 108 attached with flap 105 via a pivot joint 114 and having a sharpened cutting edge for cutting of a dispensed tape, multiple suction cups 109 grips open end of tape, an imaging unit 110, determines a quantity of remaining tape, a speaker 111 generate an audio alert for a user regarding using a fresh roll of tape if tape is close to finishing."
