MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521103758 A) filed by M/S Prashant West Point Machinery Private Limited, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Oct. 28, 2025, for 'tape breakage and slackness detection system for polybeamer machine with unrolling creel and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Apurva Kapadia; Ravi Nirmal; Hemal Patel; and Keval Mali.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A detection system for a polybeamer machine (100) monitors polypropylene tapes (114) between an unrolling creel (110) and a winding beam (160). A contact type assembly (120) at the creel exit has entry and exit guide plates (122, 124), dropper levers (126) and a single conductive element (128) per row, with positive (128a) and negative (128b) strips separated by insulation (128c) and supplied by a 24 V DC source (129). Tape tension holds each dropper lever (126) raised; slackness or breakage allows it to bridge the strips. A contact less assembly (140) downstream comprises a laser transmitter (142), receiver (144) and a perforated pipe (148b) above the tape sheet, driven by an air blower (148a), to blow broken ends into a laser beam (146). A PLC processes electrical states from the conductive element (128) and sensor (144) to identify line specific slackness and true breakages, stopping the machine only on confirmed breakage, improving beam quality and reducing false stops."
