MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421094117 A) filed by Aituring Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 30, 2024, for 'tank-mounted remote controlled weapon station for armoured platforms.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A tank-mounted remote controlled weapon station for armoured platforms (100), comprising a stabilized base with a cylindrical mounting unit (2) connected to a weapon mounting shaft (18). The system integrates an elevation motor (6) for precise vertical adjustments, an enclosure with optical unit (8) for target detection and identification, a main camera (11) is installed along with a thermal camera with fiber optic gyro stabilization (12) for enhanced accuracy, and an anti-fog lens (10) to ensure visibility across various environmental conditions. Additionally, it features a laser rangefinder module (14) for distance measurement, an ammunition unit (16) for storage, and an azimuth motor (24) providing 360 horizontal rotation, enabling flexible battlefield operations. The system (100) may utilize an alternative optical module (21) to its platform to perform its operations as shown in figure 1B."
