MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611002313 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Jan. 8, for 'tamper-detection system for cctv surveillance devices.'
Inventor(s) include Tarun Aggarwal; Saurabh Aggarwal; and Dr. Harpreet Singh Bedi.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a tamper-detection system (100) for CCTV cameras (104). The system (100) includes a security loop comprising a thin wire (106) and mounting screw (108), and an alarm unit (102) configured to generate an alert upon tampering. The system (100) is powered via the camera's (104) AC supply and includes optional components such as a battery backup (112) for mains failure and an LED indicator (110) for visual alerts. The loop is broken upon loosening of the screw (108), damage to the camera (104), or removal of the camera (104), immediately activating the alarm unit (102). The system (100) provides real-time notification to prevent theft, vandalism, or destruction of surveillance devices."
