MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006915 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'tailoring work assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Namarta Thakur; Dr. Sham; Arpit Kumar; Ashima Pandey; Hemlata; Dr. Tanuj Sharma; and Neha Thakur.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A tailoring work assistive device, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 installed with multiple cylindrical members 2 arranged in multiple column for storing thread reels, a camera 3 to detect dimensions of the reels, an expandable pulley arrangement configured with each members 2 to accommodate the reels, a touch enabled screen 4 accessed by a user to provide input commands for inserting thread into a needle, a color sensor to detect reel having user-defined colored thread, a primary robotic arm 6 to grip one needle from a chamber 5 and place needle near an opening, a lid 7 to open via a hinge and allow user to access the needle inserted with thread, a RPM sensor to detect RPM of members 2 during pulling of thread and a blade to cut the thread and allow user to work with thread."
