MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005541 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 27, 2024, for 'tag attaching assistive device for commodities.'
Inventor(s) include Shivani Goyal; Sarbpreet Kaur; and Sajjan Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A tag attaching assistive device for commodities, comprises of a body 1 positioned on a ground surface, a touch enabled screen 2 accessed by a user to provide details regarding type of commodity and type of tag to be attached with the commodity, an artificial intelligence-based camera 3 to detect commodity positioned in front of the body 1, a first motorized clamp 4 to pick a tag from a chamber 7 while a second motorized clamp 5 to pick a tag strip from a container 8 which are inserted within the commodity via a pneumatic pusher 9 attached on the body 1 and a heating coil 10 installed on the body 1 to provide heating effect to the strip for joining ends of strip and tag as means of securing tag over the commodity."
