MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517079584 A) filed by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications Corp. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on Aug. 22, for 'systems and methods for intra template matching prediction with improved search areas.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Methods and systems for video processing are provided. The method can further include (1) determining a search area of a current coding unit (CU); (2) performing a template matching process over a plurality of predictor candidates in the search area; (3) identifying a predictor block from the plurality of predictor candidates; and (4) using data from the predictor block as reference data for the current CU."
