MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421016966 A) filed by Tata Consultancy Services Limited, Maharashtra, on March 8, 2024, for 'systems and methods for generating quantifiable explanation for multi-lead electrocardiogram and associated region of interest.'
Inventor(s) include Pandey, Chandan; Dutta Choudhury, Anirban; and Khandelwal, Sundeep.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Deep Learning (DL) performs well in cardiovascular disease (CVD) classification using 12-lead Electrocardiogram (ECG). However, explainable artificial intelligence in CVD classification, still remains largely qualitative. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods that implement a Region of Interest (ROI) based quantifiable explanation for multi-lead ECG. CVD specific post-processing steps are added, to increase the explanation performance. Furthermore, the system enables selection of an optimal DL model, within the performance space defined by classification, explanation, and time-complexity."
