MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311082846 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 5, 2023, for 'system to auto-tune outlier fuzzy rejection and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Florian Ries; and Biswaraj Sahu.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses a system (100) and method to auto-tune outlier fuzzy rejection in signal processing. It is implemented in a vehicle (110) for assisting in lane localization, where it involves receiving, by communicating with sensors (102), sets of signals pertaining to detection of a lane change, and extracting lane attributes from the signals. It also involves mapping the lane attributes, extracted from distinct set of signals, with one another, and calculating corresponding fitting scores. A tunable sigmoid operator is executed on the extracted attributes and/ or the fitting scores, and corresponding pre-determined weights are assigned to said attributes and/ or fitting scores. Further, a rescaled state of the fitting scores/ and or the attributes is derived by matching the weighted fitting scores/ and or the attributes with corresponding fuzzy-cut offs, and correspondingly one or more outliers not matching with the fuzzy cut-offs are rejected."
