MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441068165 A) filed by Skanray Technologies Limited, Mysore, Karnataka, on Sept. 10, 2024, for 'system for unobtrusive non-invasive continuous blood pressure measurement and method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Rayirath, Arathy; and Vasudevan, Vysakh.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a system for non-invasive continuous blood pressure monitoring. The system includes modules to acquire ECG and PPG signals from a subject. A control unit detects fiducial points, calculates blood pulse propagation delay (t), and estimates continuous blood pressure values. The system features a blood pressure measurement module for regular calibration and a display unit for showing estimated parameters. It assesses signal quality, discards invalid signals, and updates the estimation model with new readings. A real-time algorithm classifies the PPG signal by segmenting it, determining gradients, and identifying fiducial points. The system can be integrated into a multiparameter patient monitor tracking various vital parameters, including ECG, SpO2, NIBP, IBP, CO2 concentration, and cardiac output. The present invention further discloses a method for non-invasive continuous blood pressure monitoring."
